WHY BOOK WITH ME?


IS THERE STILL A NEED FOR TRAVEL AGENTS? DOES ANYONE STILL USE THEM? THE ANSWER TO BOTH QUESTIONS: YES!


These were the two main questions I was asked when starting my business. And yes – travel agents are still needed and used. Below are some reasons why.

Won’t it cost more to use a travel agent?

More than likely, not. Travel agents have access to way more info and exclusive offers than any of the online booking tools offer. Travel agents group together in what is called a consortium. We are independent contractors working with a host agency. Therefore, better relationships and higher sales with our suppliers translate to better rates and offers than if you were to book on your own.

If I can book online myself, why do I need a travel agent?

The industry average savings is around 3 hours of your time and around $300 or more in added values or savings with a travel agent. A lot of time and research goes into planning your vacation, why not let someone else do the research, you have better things to do, like pack!

If you book that trip online and something comes up during your trip – such as a missed connection – who are you going to call? You are pretty much on your own working to reschedule ALL aspects of your trip. If you book through me, I can help you rebook and advocate for you to the suppliers to get your trip back on track.

So how do travel agents get paid?

Travel agents are paid by the suppliers they use. The commissions are direct from the supplier and are not passed on to the consumer. The supplier pays the agent a percentage of the sale (not everything is commissionable). The agent receives the commission once you travel. Bottom line – you don’t pay any extra for my services. 

Is there an incentive to use certain suppliers?

Yes, there is. Some offer better commissions than others. Some offer agent incentives to get more business directed their way. But a good agent puts their clients’ needs before the dollar signs. What good would it do me to send you on a vacation that wasn’t right for you just because I could make a couple of dollars more? You wouldn’t enjoy your trip as much as you could have, and you won’t come back to me for planning your next one.  

My end goal is your repeat business. Which means I will work hard to provide you the best value for your time, your money and most importantly, provide you the vacation you hoped it would be!
